How did I play?
Enter your score and index for your net score, differential and what you played to. Kept in this browser.
How it works
- What is a Score Differential?
- The WHS measure of how well you played, adjusted for course difficulty: (113 ÷ Slope) × (your score − Course Rating). A round equal to your Handicap Index is a differential equal to your index; lower is better.
- What does "played to" mean?
- Your score differential minus your Handicap Index. −1.5 means you played one and a half strokes better than your handicap that day; +3.0 means three strokes worse.
- Why is the differential labelled "unadjusted"?
- The official calculation uses an Adjusted Gross Score, where each hole is capped at net double bogey. That needs hole-by-hole scores, so from a total we show the unadjusted figure. Adjustments can only lower a score, so the real differential is never worse than the one shown.
- How is the Handicap Index estimate worked out?
- The WHS way: the average of your best differentials from your most recent 20 rounds — the best 8 of 20, or fewer with a small adjustment when you have fewer scores (from 3 rounds up). It is an estimate from unadjusted totals; the figure your federation issues is the official one.
- Where are my rounds stored?
- In this browser only. Your scores are never sent anywhere and there are no accounts — the one thing Golf Birdie keeps on a server is a course rating you choose to share, and it carries no score. Export the CSV if you want to keep your rounds elsewhere. Clearing site data removes them.
